楼門/武雄

1300年の歴史を持つ武雄温泉の入口に建つ「楼門」は、「新館」とともに東京駅を設計した辰野金吾博士による木造建築で両方とも国重要文化財に指定されています。2012年に復元された東京駅丸の内駅舎南北ドームの天井にある8つの干支と、楼門2階の天井に彫られている4つの干支を合わせると十二支が揃うことで話題になりました。

ROUMON TOWER GATE/TAKEO CITY

”Roumon” Tower Gate located at the entrance of Takeo Onsen that holds 1,300 years of history, and “Takeo Onsen Shinkan” building are both wooden structures designed by Dr. Kingo Tatsuno who also designed Tokyo station. And, they are designated as Important Cultural Properties. “Roumon” Tower Gate became famous when it became known that 4 Chinese zodiac signs curved on the ceiling of the 2nd floor of the Roumon gate complete the set of 12 signs with the 8 signs seen on the ceilings of the South and North domes of Tokyo Station Marunouchi building, which was restored in 2012.
